The experiences available on the islands of Fiji are as diverse and numerous as the number of islands in the region. These islands call to all dreamers, adventurers and lovers, "Bula" – Welcome.
Legend | Nananu-I-Ra
Once upon a time, a woman named Adi lived in the village of Nanukuloa (Village of the Black Sands) on the island of Viti Levu. She fell in love with a handsome young chief from the island of Bua, about 20 miles across the water and famous for its forests of beautiful sandalwood. Unfortunately, the tribes on Viti Levu and Bua were not friendly and the suit of the young chief was rejected by Adi’s father, chief Nanukuloa. Undaunted, the two young lovers met secretly on an island which came to be known as Nananu-i-Ra, meaning “Dreamland in the West.”
