Circle Island Tour
Discover Moorea's volcanic peaks and lush mountain
slopes. Encircle the island on the coastal road, and visit Belvedere
viewpoint.
The road that hugs Moorea's
northern coast is only about 37 miles long, but they are surely
37 of the most beautiful miles you will ever see. On a circle island
tour you can take in the shimmering Pacific as it can only be
seen from the twin inlets of Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay. Your driver
will take you inland, past an agricultural school and fields of
pineapple and taro, up to the "Jus de Fruits de Moorea." Here you
can sample the island's delicious pineapple-by itself, in teas,
juices, liqueurs and jams.
Bring plenty of film for your stop at the Belvedere Lookout Point.
This rest stop, part way up Mt. Mouapouta, looks out over a spectacular
landscape created by Mt. Rotui, flanked by the two bays.
