Enhance your vacation with the following experience:
Circle Island Tour

Gauguin Museum
The museum was inaugurated in 1965. Many
documents reconstitute the work and life of Gauguin in Tahiti and
the Marquesas. Several of his bronze sculptures are on display here.
The Museum is open everyday from 9am to 5pm. |

Vaipehi Garden
The keepers of The Vaipehi Gardens have somehow
found the perfect balance between well-groomed and untamed. While
many may call this garden "exotic and beautiful", for Tahitians,
they are simply indigenous plants. As you explore This botanical
path, it will lead you to a beautiful grotto. |

 |

Maraa Grotto
In the Maraa Grotto you will find a cool
lake of black water which creates an unusual natural phenomenon.
The cave appears to be smaller than it actually is. Throw a stone
across to the other end of the cave. It may be more difficult than
you think... your stone will only go half the distance you intended
it to. Regardless of your strength, you may be deceived by this
optical illusion. |

Roadside sights
You may see local fishermen lining the roadsides
with their fresh catch of the day. Maintaining the strong tradition
of their ancestors, The Tahitians continue to string up their fish
on strips of Pandanus, the same leaves that are they use for basket
weaving and to make the roofs of the bungalows. You may also see
the villagers selling fresh fruit from their land. |
